This policy is a plain-language starting point and is not legal advice. NewsVideo is designed as a lightweight public video-link feed and does not require visitors to create an account.

Information We Store

For public visitors, NewsVideo stores selected region preference and an anonymous session ID in browser local storage so the feed can remember the chosen region and measure basic product behavior. The backend stores video link data, including YouTube ID, URL, title, description, source, tags, region, posting time, expiration time, visibility status, and public engagement metadata used to operate the feed.

If you choose to sign in, NewsVideo stores your Google account email, display name, profile image URL, favorites, share links, personalization setting, and optional behavior signals used to improve your feed. Sign-in is optional and browsing remains available without an account.

Analytics and Location

NewsVideo uses Google Analytics and local product analytics to understand aggregate usage such as app opens, region navigation, tag clicks, searches without raw search text, video clicks, favorites, shares, contact form submissions, and install prompts. NewsVideo may store approximate location fields derived by the server from network information: country, state or province, and city. NewsVideo does not store raw IP addresses in analytics or user-learning tables.

Personalization Controls

Personalization is optional. When enabled, NewsVideo may use your regions, clicked tags, watched videos, favorites, shares, and related signals to rank live videos in the separate For You feed. You can turn personalization off, update your display name, view or clear favorites from the Favorites area, sign out, or delete your account from the profile panel.

When personalization is off, NewsVideo continues to provide the standard regional feeds without showing the For You option.

User Login

Optional public user accounts use Google Sign-In. The backend verifies the Google ID token before issuing an app session token. You do not need to sign in to browse the public feed.

Third Parties

NewsVideo uses YouTube embeds and YouTube metadata services, Google Sign-In, and Google Analytics. When you sign in, view analytics-supported pages, or play a video, your browser may communicate with Google or YouTube services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Cookies and Tracking

NewsVideo does not run comments, social feeds, or forced-login advertising features. Browser storage is used for region preference, anonymous session continuity, and optional user session tokens. Google, YouTube, and analytics services may use their own cookies or storage when their services are used.

GDPR-Style Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data. NewsVideo provides in-app controls for profile updates, favorites management, personalization opt-out, and account deletion. You may also use the Contact page for privacy questions, account requests, or removal requests.
